She is of French German, Irish and Scottish heritage. Her father John Martin Magenau Jr. was President and CEO at the Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery in Erie Pennsylvania which had been founded in 1847. The brewery closed in the year 1978. Jacobs began studying acting at age of eight and was a student at the Saturday class of Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mt. Jacobs was a student at Lebanon High School between 2000 and 2004. She earned a bachelor's degree in 2004 after having graduated in the Lebanon High School.
